JustOneMoreBrick
Installed V2 on ipad and it has created 2 folders in my ipad files area but none of my V1 content is available and no idea where to find it. Is there a guide or procedure on what do to as the FAQs don't seem to offer much. Also: - renaming files is a complete mystery...I can copy but then it asks me to move the file? - where are new files supposed to be stored? - what does the [M] mean in file names? - tapping an . afdesign file opens it in Affinity Photo Edited January 25, 2023 by JustOneMoreBrick more detail

Remember V2 does not replace V1 app, so you don't actually need to transfer files to V2 and you can continue to edit in V1 if you prefer. I assume from your previous post that you only have all your work stored inside the V1 app sandbox and have yet to save those files to an external folder location? On this assumption, for any document you want to transfer to V2 you need to:- Goto Affinity preferences and change the Default Save Location from "On My iPad" to "iCloud Drive" On your Affinity home page, tap the hamburger icon (3 lines) and if you have not done so already rename your document Again on the hamburger icon tap save and you should see a message saying saving xxx a xxx.afphoto to iCloud Drive. check in the Files app and look in the Affinity Photo folder and you should see your file xxx.afphoto return to Affinity home screen and on the hamburger icon tap "close", answer yes if you have seen your document named xxx stored in iCloud. repeat steps 2 - 5 for each document you want to transfer. JustOneMoreBrick
Thanks! was starting to do that but thought there had to be an easier way...especially with folders in V1 as I now have to export each file independently and recreate the folders...ugh They really do need to add your process to their FAQs, as this is far from obvious if your files are in the V1 sandbox. Any idea why I have 2x Affinity folders in my iPad files and what they are for? Thanks again for your help. David

Regardless do not store anything in the On My iPad folders for Affinity as if you ever delete the app those folders are automatically deleted by iPadOS.
