Straightening problems - jagged lines

Recommended Posts

When I use Affinity to straighten images I usually end up with a jagged broken line.

I've taken to straightening with Capture NX which seems to do a better job.

Is there a setting that might be affecting this option?

Hi njakeman,

Welcome to Affinity Forums :)

Go to Affinity Preferences, Performance section and set the View Quality dropdown to Bilinear (Best Quality). This will affect the quality of the render on screen.

If exporting the file choose a diferent Resample algoritm (Bicubic or Lanczos offer better results - this depends a little on the type of the image too).

Still think that should be the default..

It is the default on my iMac, or at least I have never changed it & that is what it is set to.

The default settings depend on the spec of your Mac.

I think on dual core (which are MacBooks expect the 15inch ones) the view quality is set to nearest neighbor and on quad cores it´s bilinear.

It makes sense that the default depends on the specs of the Mac. My guess is the specs of the graphics card is involved, maybe even more so than the CPU?
