Affinity v1: depth of field not staying inside ellipsis, applies itself to entire layer

Recommended Posts

Title says it all. I'm using Affinity 1 and have a DOF in one file that works perfectly and another that does not. In the second file, I need it applied to part of the image and instead, it just applies the effect (using the sliders) to the entire layer. Moving and reshaping the ellipsis has no effect.

Ideas?

Hi Pšenda!

I think I have solved it. I was introducing such a minimal change with the DOF adjustment that it could not be seen at the zoom level I was working on (I am something of a newbie to pro tools like Affinity).

Once I increased the adjustment it seemed to work just fine. In my other file the adjustment was more pronounced.

If I get stuck again on this, I'll post a sample file.

Thanks for answering!
