Stefan C Posted January 24, 2023 Posted January 24, 2023 (edited) Hi everyone, I renamed a png that was linked to a document. AP gave me the notice about the missing ressource, which I skipped. Instead I used the Ressource manager and replaced it with the same, now renamed, file. After reopening the files for more editing some random weird things happens. can't save anymore - editing of the file is not allowed and i had to save a copy. reopening the copy leads to the same result (latest after the second try) can't open the file because of unsupported format - happened to 2 of 4 after saving as a copy. exported pdf-files are corrupted and damaged I tried to rescue the files with "save as" and renamed the linked image - after reopening the same thing happened. I am using Affinity Publisher 2.0.3 on a Mac mini 2018 with Ventura 13.1 In Addition any idea/hint to how i can rescue the documents or parts of it, would be great. Thanks. MikeTO Posted January 24, 2023 Posted January 24, 2023 The first attachment opens fine for me, the second is indeed corrupted and is a lot smaller. There is a known bug with linked resources and the resource manager which you may have encountered. The best workaround is to rename the folder containing the images and then open the document, but do not relink the images or use the Resource Manager. This will allow you to open a document with problematic linked resources. Once you have it open manually replace the linked resources, or at least those that are documents - PDF, SVG, and afdesign specifically. Just select each one and manually replace it with the same image. Once you have finished that save the document. Then use the Resource Manager and embed those documents. This will be inconvenient if you wanted to link them but the bug doesn't occur with embedded documents. Hopefully this will be fixed very soon.
