Error server when remove connection

Recommended Posts

Hello guys,

I have access to the server on the mac, which when opening a file through affinity and exiting with the connection to that internal network server, affinity simply does not open anymore, just uninstalling and installing again.

the message that keeps popping up..

Perhaps the server does not exist or is currently unavailable. Check the server name or IP address, check the network connection, then try again.

Has anyone experienced this and managed to resolve it?

I'm confused about what you mean. Can you provide more details?

It almost sounds like you're not actually installing the application, but just opening a DMG  file that's on the server and then running the app from there.

for example. I have a local server that accesses affinity files, and it works normally. when I close the notebook and lose connection with the file via local server , it does not allow me to close the program or open anything, because affinity is completely unusable, only removing affinity and installing it again to start working again . this happens on macbook

@Dan CHelp, I have a big problem. Since a few days I can only work with Affinity programs when the server is available. Even if all the files for my work are on my computer. As soon as I open an Affinity program, it automatically loads the server. If the server is not available, the program crashes completely. What can I do to solve this problem?

Is the above solution only for Photo or also for Publisher? I have the problem with Publisher. Can I delete files directly from the library without terminal?

Hi @md_berlin,

Sorry to hear you're having trouble - I'd certainly recommend trying to manually delete this file whilst our developers work on a resolution.

Can you please open Finder then navigate to the following location:

~/Library/Application Support/Affinity Publisher 2/

Here, please locate and delete the file mru.dat, then try launching the Affinity app once again.

Does the app now load as expected please? :)

Please Note: I am now out of the office until Tuesday 2nd April on annual leave.

Many thanks :)

Thank you for the answer. Now I know what I can do if it occurs again. I first helped myself to delete the item "recently opened files". That also helped. But I hope in 2.1 it is solved anyway. My Application Support for Affinty has a slightly different path, I don't know why. But there are the mru files.

BTW: Please can you add a Shortcut for Text Horizontal Scale, need this often for manual paragraph fine-tuning.

I'm glad to hear this has allowed the app to open for you - I can confirm that our devs are currently working on a fix for this issue which we hope to be included within the 2.1 update as we certainly understand the inconvenience of this.

My apologies, I had incorrectly assumed you were using the Affinity Store version of the Affinity app, the file path you've found is the correct one for the Mac App Store version of this app - and I'm glad to see you were able to locate this regardless :)

I will be sure to request this with our dev team internally, if you have any further Feedback you'd like to provide, you can do so here -

The issue "App attempts to reconnect to disconnected SMB share on launch" (REF: AFB-7024) has been fixed by the developers in internal build "2.1.0.1728".
This fix should soon be available as a customer beta and is planned for inclusion in the next customer release.
Customer beta builds are announced here and you can participate by following these instructions.
If you still experience this problem once you are using that build version (or later) please reply to this thread including @Serif Info Bot to notify us.
