Gaal Dornik Posted January 20, 2023 Posted January 20, 2023 Hello, i'd like to add Drop Shadow effect to many objects in my project and change its parameters afterwards. Is that possible? Styles window doesn't give me this opportunity. Quote
GarryP Posted January 20, 2023 Posted January 20, 2023 Once a Style has been applied to the layer, the layer has the formatting given to it by the Style but there is no link back to the original Style. In other words, Styles do not work in the same way that Text Styles do - Style formatting is a one-way action. However, you can copy a Style from one layer to another by using Copy / Paste Style. Gaal Dornik Posted January 20, 2023 Author Posted January 20, 2023 You can of course, but with 200+ objects it's just impractical. Quote

GarryP Posted January 20, 2023 Posted January 20, 2023 Yes, for hundreds of layers it is inconvenient. These layers you want to apply the effect to, are they the same thing (do they all look exactly the same) or are they different things? If you have lots of exactly the same thing then it’s best to use Symbols from Designer. If they are different things, can all of the things be identified by a single feature? If so then the Select Same or Select Object functionalities may be useful. If they are all different things then I’m not sure if there is a quick way to do this. If you can give us more information about the layers, how they have been created, what they look like, what differences there are, and so on and so forth, then someone might have a clever idea, but it’s difficult to give specific advice when we don’t know what you are working with. Gaal Dornik Posted January 20, 2023 Author Posted January 20, 2023 It's a bunch of pictures. They're all different, but must have the same style applied. The problem is i'm not sure about the parameters - i'll probably tweak them later. In InDesign there are object styles that are editable after creation, i guess this kind of functionality isn't in APub yet. Quote

Select Object > Images Then add a shadow FX to all at once Do the same later if you need to tweak the shadow effect laurent32 1 Quote To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. Gaal Dornik Posted January 20, 2023 Author Posted January 20, 2023 Looks like the workaround to me. Thanks, i'll check it later. Although proper object styles would be even better) Quote
