Is it normal that the formats I saved are just available within the project and not globally?

I created some table formats for a worksheet. Today I opened a new project / worksheet and I had to notice that all my table formats I have saved are gone. So I went into an old worksheet and there they are. 

Is there a way to save formats globally, so that they are available in every new project / worksheet I build from scratch?

Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums.

You could create them in an otherwise empty document, and use File > Export as Template, and then base future documents on that Template.

But more likely, what you want for this case is one of these options available via the panel options (burger menu) in the Table Formats panel:

Thank you. So there is no global way to save a style for all future projects. I can import from another project and I can make a template as a base for every new worksheet. Thanks...

Save Formats as Default would do that.

Oh my dear... I got it, thanks to you. I was trying to set as default from the menu but it didn't work. I had to add it first as a new format and then save it as default. Ok... thank you so much!
