Komaryt Posted January 19, 2023 Posted January 19, 2023 Hello, I am new user of Affinity bundle and I bought it because my main reason was that affinity photo can edit and make 360 photos - but it does not work on my software. I was shooting 360 photos with Insta360 X3, photos are in .dng format exported from Insta360 Studio. Then I import this photo into Affinity Photo 2 and I edit it like every other 360 photo - I am cutting of some tripods, some dirty stuff which I didnt saw when I was shooting photos etc. At this point everything is great, Affinity is really fast when I change view and I am really happy with this performance but I am curious why it cannot be exported as 360 photo. For example - in photoshop I was doing everything the same like in Affinity Photo and I was saving this photo as jpeg (as always) and when I try to upload this photo to facebook it recognize it as 360 photo and everything is fine but when I am exporting it from Affinity Photo and trying to add photo - facebook just cannot recognize it as 360 photo and it is uploading it as normal photo. What I am doing wrong? is there possible to fix it or maybe it is just a bug with software and I need to reinstall it? It is very important to me because I started doing 360 photos and I have a lot of them to my portfolio but I cannot show them to my clients because it just don't work. I stopped adobe subscription because 360 tool was too slow and it wasn't as smooth as in Affinity Photo but now I am sad about that I cannot export jpeg as 360. Thanks to everyone who will give me some clue what I am doing wrong and what should I do in future. Cheers! Quote
NotMyFault Posted January 19, 2023 Posted January 19, 2023 Could be an issue with exif metadata. try to inspect your files if the relevant exif tags are present. Compare those from working / non-working files. There are countless tools Apps / command line / online services to adjust those. Even Photo has an inspector, but you need to check the actual exported file. https://echeng.com/articles/editing-360-photos-injecting-metadata/ Komaryt 1 Quote Mac mini M1 A2348 | MBP M3 Windows 11 - AMD Ryzen 9 5900x - 32 GB RAM - Nvidia GTX 1080 LG34WK950U-W, calibrated to DCI-P3 with LG Calibration Studio / Spider 5 | Dell 27“ 4K iPad Air Gen 5 (2022) A2589 Special interest into procedural texture filter, edit alpha channel, RGB/16 and RGB/32 color formats, stacking, finding root causes for misbehaving files, finding creative solutions for unsolvable tasks, finding bugs in Apps. milo42 Posted February 15, 2023 Posted February 15, 2023 Affinity photo should know its editing a 360 photo and output the correct metadata you shouldnt have to do this manually. Is this a bug or just an oversight from the affinity photo team? Quote

Is this a bug or just an oversight from the affinity photo team? Hello! Thank you for reply. Nah.. Affinity team told me on messenger that Affinity Photo does not saving metadata about 360 photo so I need to do it manually - but it's okay. I just discover workflow for that and it works perfectly Quote
