I applied old style to figures for body text. Everything looks good. Created new footnote style based on body copy with old style figures. Everything looked good. Entered a new footnote. Resulted in gibberish text as shown. Undid old style selection from new footnote style. Gibberish text remains, even when I past from plain text editor. How do I get readable text back?

Okay, I changed capitals to normal, no change. I went to alternates and do not see the setting you reference. 😟

My apologies, it's not in the style definition but in character attributes applied over top of the paragraph style. Instead of editing the style, just select the text in that footnote and turn off Alter 1 shown here in Typograph as well as Small Caps.

Cheers
