glassTransition Posted January 15, 2023 Posted January 15, 2023 (edited) I’ve seen bits and pieces of this scattered all over and I had to try many different combinations to get this to work correctly for me so I thought I would share what I’ve learned. Background: I am creating vector-based (only - no pixelated layers) content for laser cutting and engraving. My process: Edit Document Settings to set document defaults to Millimeters and 96 DPI. Select all objects that you want to export. Then, starting at the same hamburger menu select Export and use these settings: Set dpi to 96, Area to Selection Only, Rasterize to Nothing, add line breaks (in case you need to look into the file), and turn off everything else. Finally in Inkscape, chose Import and set resolution to 96 dpi. I hope this helps someone. Note to Serif: It would be nice to be able to save these export settings!
