Paul Chiswick
Followed James' compound masks tutorial. However, on iPAD I don't see the icon to add/subtract?
NotMyFault
the compound mode can be changed when opening the layer studio "..." more menu, and then at the very bottom. You may need to scroll down on smaller iPads 9.7 to 10.5" https://affinity.help/photo2ipad/English.lproj/pages/Layers/compoundMasks.html Select the layer mask within the Compound Mask. On the Layers panel, tap More to access Layer Options. At the bottom of the panel, select a different mode from the available Compound list—choose from Add, Subtract, Intersect or Xor. Paul Chiswick
Thanks, this is the second feature I've found that only reveals itself when my iPAD Air (2019) is in portrait mode. Pity, as for most of my work the iPAD is landscape! And using it portrait decreases the working area . . .

A number of menus are scrollable but unfortunately their is no indicator to identify them. So always worth swiping up/on the menu. If not and you can’t view menu in landscape, it needs reporting as a bug.🙂 Quote M1 IPad Air 10.9/256GB lpadOS 17.1.1 Apple Pencil (2nd gen). NotMyFault
The issue is manifold there is no scrollbar visible at all, only a very thin dark grey line which is easily overlooked as separator there is zero indication that there is something cut off. On desktop, you get a small >> indicator if you need to scroll in title bar you need to touch and drag within the shown settings area. This can go wrong as depending on timing an which random slider you touch you may change the settings instead of scrolling. The same issue exists in Develop persona, the settings are so cramped that it is extremely hard to find a place to touch without collateral damage. The unbelievable thing is that all settings which are visible without scrolling are totally useless in case of mask layers. They simply need to get removed. A filed a request some time ago. Will flag as a bug.
