Adding assets to Affinity Publisher V2?

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I've just jumped back into the Affinity arena after some time away. Got the full license for all versions etc. Been a little bit of a slog catching up from the old days of PagePlus....

My current problem: figuring out how to add assets from an add-on package. Specifically the Dreamphotography Brushes offered to all users.

  1. I've downloaded and installed the package.
  2. I know it's installed because it says so in my profile. (I've actually done it three times and hit the same wall.)
  3. Now...what? It's not available in my assets.
  4. For the life of me, I cannot find a solution.
  5. Soooo...how do I "add" those assets?

Thanks.

If it is just brushes you are trying to install you would install and find them in the (pixel) Brushes panel in Designer and/or APhoto

Do you have those apps?

To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. If any of "my" posts are wrong or appear to be total b*ll*cks they are the ones generated by the AI. If correct they were probably mine. I apologise for any mistakes made by my AI - I'm sure it will improve with time.

Since they are raster brushes, in Affinity Designer you will find them in the Brushes panel of the Pixel Persona.

BTW, for more info about how to install & where to find various Affinity ad dons, see https://affinity.serif.com/en-us/store/resources-install-guide/ ... There is a link to it in the Affinity Store on the page where the Dreamphography brushes download appears -- the link is named Installation Guide in the Resources section.

If you have installed it 3 times in the same app, then you will have 3 copies of that brush category in the appropriate persona of that app. The 2nd & third copies should have a numeric suffix, so once you are in the right persona in the Brushes panel, you might want to delete the 2 extra copies to save some disk storage space.

Also, since you say you have a full license for all versions, you should find these brushes in the Photo Persona of Affinity Publisher. If you have the new versions, you can link this (& other) brush categories to all 3 V2 apps so they are stored only once for all 3 of them.

All 3 1.10.8, & all 3 V2.4.1 Mac apps; 2020 iMac 27"; 3.8GHz i7, Radeon Pro 5700, 32GB RAM; macOS 10.15.7
