RubberLittle Posted January 13, 2023 Posted January 13, 2023 Hello, When I want to create a new page, all the various page sizes presets included in Designer V1 are missing from V2. As it could be due that I had to rename the MSIX into zip to install it, I would like to know how I can manually copy all the presets out of the MSIX archive so they are available in V2 ? Thanks in advance Quote

RubberLittle Posted January 13, 2023 Author Posted January 13, 2023 (edited) Nope, nothing ... ( or more precisely : I do have the categories, but they are empty ... ) Edited January 13, 2023 by RubberLittle Quote

You might be better off installing it the right way. What stopped you from installing as an MSIX? Alternatively, wait for the EXE- or MSI-based installer. RubberLittle Posted January 13, 2023 Author Posted January 13, 2023 (edited) Quote What stopped you from installing as an MSIX? A PhD in IT that makes me know precisely the risks of letting Microsoft blindly handle the installations on my computer. I wish Affinity Designer also existed on Linux, tbh. On Windows, the notion of Sandbox is a real joke : dont trust it.Release notes for december of MS fixes : Patch Tuesday For its final Patch Tuesday of the year, Microsoft fixed one bug that's already been exploited in the wild – and another that's publicly known. That brings its total for December to 49 patched vulnerabilities, six of which are rated critical. So MSIX shouldnt be blindly trusted as being secure, we're still dealing with Microsoft here ... walt.farrell Posted January 13, 2023 Posted January 13, 2023 No one has said to blindly trust the security of MSIX-based installs, but that also doesn't provide a reason to blindly reject the technology. RubberLittle Posted January 13, 2023 Author Posted January 13, 2023 Quote that also doesn't provide a reason to blindly reject the technology And you are right : I will adopt it when UAC is handled properly in Windows. But that's not the point of my first question, so if I can find a workaround before the MSI or exe are released, I hope you wont mind 😉 walt.farrell 1 Quote

Hmm, so I don't really mind 🙂 R C-R 1 Quote Affinity Store (MSI/EXE): Affinity Suite (ADe, APh, APu) 2.5.7.2948 (Retail) Dell OptiPlex 7060, i5-8500 3.00 GHz, 16 GB, Intel UHD Graphics 630, Dell P2417H 1920 x 1080, Windows 11 Pro, Version 24H2, Build 26100.2605. RubberLittle Posted January 15, 2023 Author Posted January 15, 2023 If there are questions about the release of an EXE or MSI version, it means that I'm not the only one to wait for another installation format. Now, obviously you are being judgemental here about me & people willing to find a workaround while Affinity irons out the latest bugs of the new versions. If you didnt want to help, why bother about this post ? Quote
