Affinity 2 is not showing layers panel. Need help please.

Recommended Posts

Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums, @Alleyesonme.

It's probably something you're missing. First, which application and release are you using?

Next, what kind of file was it? Especially, what is the file extension?

Can you give us a screenshot of the application window?

I imported a 1080p image into the program and the layers panel does not show up.

Do you mean the Layers Studio panel is missing from the UI? If so, make sure your V2 app is set to show it in the Windows menu.

My guess is R C-R is right. This may happen to you as well... When I first started using Affinity, the TAB key got me. If you press the TABkey , most everything disappears except the workspace, press TAB again and it all comes back. Give it a try. It is handy once you know what it does.

Please provide a screenshot of the open Windows menu, including its open Studio submenu. In particular, which of are the last 4 items in the Studio sub-menu are enabled?

Using the Menu, look at Window > Studio > and see if you have Hide Studio enabled, or Show Right Studio disabled.

How about being able to fill the studio panel with the filters, instead of having to constantly scroll up to the layers tab, then scroll down to layers to pick the layer that you want to chose. In Affinity 1 I can see all the layers in the studio panel.

I don't think I understand that. Sorry. As far as I know, V1 and V2 are quite similar in this area.

Can you provide a screenshot or two to illustrate your problem, or a screen recording?

As Walt said, the 2 versions are similar in this respect, so it is not clear what you mean.

fill the studio panel with the filters,

Like Walt and RCR mentioned, there's really no difference concerning the filters between V1 & V2. Could you possibly be asking about having a Studio (Panel) like the

Adjustment Studio?

I am talking about the adjustment layers, they don't show up in the studio panel on the right side of the screen like they did in Affinity one. When I import a file for edit, I have to go to the top of the page, go to layer right after documents then scroll down to new adjustment layer and choose the layer that I want to use, which is tedious. In version one all the adjustment layers showed up in the studio panel on the right side. No need to go to layer, then scroll down to new adjustment layer and then scroll again to chose the layer needed.

Like this? Here's a screenshot of V2.1. They moved the Studio Menu selections from the View menu to the Window menu.

I just had a situation where I accidentally undocked a panel group (layers/adjustment/brushes), which then hid from view behind other windows. The layers option was ticked in the windows menu and my nav was still there, very disconcerting.

It wasn't until I minimised the whole ui until it became visible again. I think I'd just dragged the title bar of the panel group in attempt to resize/reposition it, which isn't actually possible once it's docked.
