Blake_S
When placing a PDF file into Publisher document, Publisher stops working - it doesn't crash, but it stops doing anything - can't save a document, can't create new pages, when attempting to switch pages the view doesn't change at all, etc. If you close the document, Publisher stops responding, and can only be killed via Task Manager. I was able to reproduce this every time. Publisher V1 doesn't have this problem, works fine with the same PDF.
PMan
I don't have any problem placing a single page PDF file in a Publisher document, nor if I place multiple single page PDFs BUT I try placing a multi-page PDF file then Publisher crashes
Blake_S
Yeah I used PDF provided by someone else created in another program, not the one I created. Should re-iterate that this is only Affinity V2 bug, works fine in V1
walt.farrell
Can you share the PDF here, @Blake_S, or will you need a private upload link from one of the Serif staff? Blake_S
Well today I can't recreate the issue either using the same files, so now uploading files would be pointless. This is however after PC restart, so something might have changed in the system. As far as I could tell when the Publisher was freezing I still had both free RAM and disk space, so its not that. If I encounter the same issue again and it will persist after PC restart then I'll upload the files for testing. walt.farrell
Blake_S
I might have figured out what caused this - it only happens if you take a document made in Publisher V1, open it in Publisher V2, and attempt to place a PDF there, then Publisher will freeze. If you save the document right after opening it, it should work fine. walt.farrell
