Mannyzoomster Posted January 10, 2023 Posted January 10, 2023 I have been trying to uninstall Affinity 2 with no success. I have the latest 2.0.3 version. The software works fine and launches with no problem. I am just wanting to uninstall it for now. In Windows 11 I have tried Settings>Apps>Installed Apps, and tried to uninstall but keep getting this message: "We couldn't uninstall Affinity Photo 2 The operation did not complete successfully Try again in a bit. The error code is 0x80073cfa, in case you need it." I have looked at the FAQ section in this forum and those suggestions did not seem to help. Would appreciate if someone could assist. Quote
walt.farrell Posted January 10, 2023 Posted January 10, 2023 Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums. Did you install it the expected way, by running the MSIX file? Or some alternative way? Have you tried Restarting Windows? You might get some additional hints to help resolve it by doing a web search for windows uninstall 0x80073cfa but the ones I found were fairly general. Yes installed with the msix file directly from serif website. I have tried restarting Windows. I have tried uninstalling from Windows settings Apps over the last couple of days and nothing works. I am reluctant to use some of what the internet is saying about 0x80073cfa as I am scared of making things worse. Why is it so difficult to uninstall this software? Never had any problems with other software. Quote

And I've never had a problem uninstalling this software. So something odd is happening. Also, no one else is reporting this problem in the forums, so it seems like something specific to your machine. Those situations are always hard to debug, and sometimes indicate problems caused by other software that you have installed. Sorry I can't provide an actual fix at this time. Dan C Posted February 19, 2023 Posted February 19, 2023 Hi Mannyzoomster, Are you able to right click the app in the start menu and click "uninstall" that way? Lee Quote
Ron6319 Posted March 6, 2023 Posted March 6, 2023 No you can't as there's only one option of each of the Affinity's. Is this a delete and a lot of program left behind? Quote

I currently have AP, AD, APub versions 2.04, and the current beta, 1714 installed. That's not to mention the version 1. Each are present in the Start menu, and I can right-click and uninstall any of them. Also I used the MSIX installer, not the MSI/EXE.
