cherylleigh1000
My question: After I copy and paste from a PDF into a new document, my text appears normal. Then when I reformat the text in a style ( Avenir Book) it looks like this, with broken lines. I am not sure what settings I have triggered in order to have this happen. The sentences are broken up, and extra spacing is happening between lines as seen in the image I attached. Any suggestions on how to get the text to present properly? Thanks very much
laurent32
This is happening quite often when copying text from PDF files… Affinity does a better job (in general) when opening (and trying to match) the PDF files. This is due to return codes (CR) or others… Quote MacBook Pro 16 pouces (3456 × 2234), 2021 / Apple M1 Pro / 16 Go / macOS Ventura Version 13.4.1 (22F82) + 31,5 pouces (2560 × 1440) + 27 pouces (1080 × 1920) + iPad (8th generation) / iPadOS 17.2 + Apple Pencil + … Macmini6,2 Quad-Core Intel Core i7 16 Go / macOS Catalina version 10.15.7 (19H2026) MacBookAir6,2 Intel Core i5 double cœur 4 Go / macOS Big Sur version 11.7.7 (20G1345) Licence Universelle Affinity V2 updated to 2.3.

cherylleigh1000
Thanks for this information. I was not familiar with this at all. So, I am guessing there is not really an easy fix to this issue?

But you could use Find and Replace in Publisher to Find paragraph breaks and replace with spaces.
