rondawoolgar Posted February 7, 2016 Share Posted February 7, 2016 I am trying to mimic a process that I was shown in photoshop as an alternative way to dodge and burn I have created a new overlay layer , but I would like to fill overlay with a neutral colour ( 50% grey ) , but I cannot work out how to do this . can you help ? Staff MEB Posted February 7, 2016 Staff Share Posted February 7, 2016 Hi rondawoolgar, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) Go to Edit ▸ Fill... and set it to 50% grey, then change the Layer Blend mode to Overlay in the Layers panel. Use the Paintbrush Tool to paint with black/white. You can swap between the two pressing X. Check the context toolbar (right above the work area) for more brush options.
