Mr Merlynn
Hello everyone! I was wondering if there is any way to export a file that, when read, shows as somewhat of an ebook format. Im trying to create a document that is fitted to mobile devices, where pages can be scrolled through and flipped through by swiping left/right. Is there any way to achieve this? Side note: the document would include video and audio as well
h_d
Hi @Mr Merlynn and welcome! None of the Affinity programs support audio or video, or export in any e-book format, so I think you'd need to look for a different product. v_kyr
Welcome! Common ebook file formats are ... ePub (.epub) HTML (.html) Kindle (.azw) Mobipocket (.mobi) Palm Media eReader (.pdb) PDF (.pdf) plain TXT files (.txt) and partly Markdown (.md) ... and from all those Affinity Publisher only exports to PDF. So you will need some third party tool which can create, let's say ePub, out of PDF files. - Even there are bunch of online PDF to ePub conversion sites available, though if the contents should also contain audio & video and so on, you've better do such ebooks with software like *Calibre* or Apple's iBooks Author, Apple Pages ... etc. Quote ☛ Affinity Designer 1.10.6 ◆ Affinity Photo 1.10.6 ◆ Affinity Publisher 1.10.6 ◆ OSX El Capitan☛ Affinity V2 apps still not installed and thus momentary not in use under MacOS
UBogun
So did I in the past with Publisher 1: Design the layout in Publisher, and after it went to print via PDF, export the text via clipboard to Apple Pages and write an ebook from it, after some manual corrections. Not the best, but a somewhat workable approach. Now I’m blocked with Publisher 2: When I try to do so like before, layout will get exported but none of the endnotes. All former endnote links are replaced by a tag "<Endnote>" … Do I have to manually recreate all the notes again in Pages? No way to copy the full layout text like before?
