The issue "Export Persona hang in Open and Save Panel Process when Exporting Slices" (REF: AFD-5921) has been fixed by the developers in internal build "2.1.0.1781".
This fix should soon be available as a customer beta and is planned for inclusion in the next customer release.
Customer beta builds are announced here and you can participate by following these instructions.
If you still experience this problem once you are using that build version (or later) please reply to this thread including @Serif Info Bot to notify us.

Wow, this is great news! Thanks a lot!!

Thanks God! (why they didn't fix that on our current version? It is a problem that need to be fixed anyway)

They can't fix it without releasing a new code package, so at a minimum it would have to be 2.0.5 rather than 2.0.4. But there is no 2.0.5 planned. The next update is to 2.1.

2.0 and 2.1 are the same version, just different releases within that version.

This was something that we have only just found the cause of and we have fixed it in the next available version.

2.1.0 is already a release candidate and will be available very soon (weeks) as a free update to anyone who has bought version 2.

@walt.farrell can't wait.

You have only 3 choices, that I know of:

  1. Wait
  2. Use the Beta
  3. Use a different application.

I think Walt was interpreted your "can't wait' comment literally instead of its figurative "eager" meaning, like mentioned at https://www.dictionary.com/browse/can-t-wait

This has been happening to both my V1 and V2 Designer for months. I'm not using any kind of file sync when saving/exporting. My files are all saved locally to my laptop.

If I don't save immediately prior to export, then it does not hang. So my workaround is to save, then select an object and adjust it by one pixel in any direction and then back, and only then proceed to export persona. This prevents the hang every time.

I share that in case it's relevant and so others can use it until a fix is issued.

Thanks. I have found a way to avoid it too but it still annoying. The only thing that makes me happy is that Affinity does fix the issues and that’s good. Back when I was full Adobe, I can assure you that not even a bug was attended when all the forums or the official support site were begging for help. Adobe never listen. Affinity does.
