i am referring to the rulers both horizontal and vertical that are on the left side and top of the art board in both photo and designer

Is it moving or are you wanting to move it.

If the latter just grab the letters of the Units of Measurement (usually mm or Pixels or Inches etc.) and click and drag. You can use any tool, except maybe the hand tool for some reason.

You can also reset the origin to the top left by double-clicking on UoM in the ruler.

@ddavis, for future reference it would help if you could explicitly mention the context of what you are asking about; so for example in this topic if you told us you were asking about the ruler in your first post.

I do really really like John Cage's work but I have never considered his work as being of the 'Minimalist' movement.

Yeah, well I guess four minutes and thirty-three seconds of silence is pretty minimal, regardless. Although I have to admit there are some composers / songwriters from which four years and thirty-three months of silence would be nice... 🙂
