calebcudjoe Posted January 3, 2023 Posted January 3, 2023 (edited) Hello! I noticed AP not rendering light colourse well and was wondering if there was a setting maybe I've missed that would fix this. My assistant is currently set to "take no action" for everything which should produce the flatest image like in sony's image viewer but I had been noticing AP not rendering an image that's as flat especially when coloured lights are involved. It almost makes these images impossible to edit. When converted to BW/ when the image is desaturated.. all the apparent colour artifacts go away and a very clean image is left behind, similar to how the colour is showing up with the sony image viewer. Also the image of the sony image viewer is RAW file with no editing. I've attached a bunch of clips with labels and the RAW file. The last image is the sony image viewer with no editing, just the flat RAW file. One more thing worth noting. When saturation is reduced, the blue start to change to purple, instead or reducing in the same colour tone. I will add that pic as well Camera: Sony a7iii I am running the latest version of AP v2 A7309716.ARW Edited January 3, 2023 by calebcudjoe Quote
calebcudjoe Posted January 3, 2023 Author Posted January 3, 2023 Ok so I found the solution! My White balance needed to be adjusted in the develop persona first, then the image behaved and performed normally. I guess I hadnt shot this badly off WB before so I didnt realize :s. This appears to particularly be an issue with coloured lights though. Never seen files behave this poorly for white balance. Hoping this thread helps someone in the future! Quote
calebcudjoe Posted January 9, 2023 Author Posted January 9, 2023 More updates I'm having to overlay WB in images develop persona but the sony image viewer is rendering the entire image well without issues. i nailed my WB in another neon light image but the lights themselves and it's spill is having the same weird artifacting 😭😭 Quote
Staff Callum Posted February 21, 2023 Staff Posted February 21, 2023 Hi Calebcudjoe, Its hard to see what might be happening just from screenshots I'm afraid. If possible could you provide a copy of the problem images along with the editing steps you are performing so I can look into this further with you. Thanks C Quote Please tag me using @ in your reply so I can be sure to respond ASAP.
