Master Pages randomly duplicate and apply/un-apply

Hi,

This is my third book created with AP so I am moderately familiar with the program. I bought V2 so that's what I'm using. I have a bunch of issues but I think I'd better address them individually here. My biggest issue is with master pages. I understand how to create them and how they work, but I have a recurring problem that once again is making me nuts. In total I have created about eight MPs, page numbers for each facing page, text boxes for each facing page, and a few others. Although I have learned to be wary of adding and deleting pages, I thought I had gotten over some humps and done so successfully. Now I see that when I delete them they affect the MPs on surrounding pages.

Furthermore, probably the bigger issue, I suddenly have certain pages that have three or four layers of certain MPs. Why in the world are MPs duplicating in the body of my book? There is only one "page left even numbers" MP, for example, but I've got pages/layers that show it three times. I have watched MP tutorials many times. I am completely lost as to why they act so contrary to what I ask them to do.

If you are adding and deleting pages then the items on the Master Pages are most likely being promoted to your actual pages as they shuffle about.

Thanks old Bruce. So even though I only created 5 MPs, by adding and/or deleting pages I can have 10 MP layers per page of text? This seems like a glitch but what do I know? I won’t ever add pages again. It totally destroyed the flow of a 200 page layout.
