anh_ngoc Posted January 2, 2023 Posted January 2, 2023 (edited) Hello, first, all the best for the new year to all. If footnotes go about multiple rows, the indent isn't correct... How can I get the footnotes to look like that instead of this: I tried it via tab, but no success Edited January 2, 2023 by anh_ngoc Quote
walt.farrell Posted January 2, 2023 Posted January 2, 2023 Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums. The basic approach, I think, would be to put the cursor into the footnote text, then adjust the Left Indent and First-Line Indent in the Paragraph panel. Then create a new Paragraph Text Style with those settings. Then specify use of that Paragraph Text Style Note Body Style field in the Notes panel. Here's an example of step 1: Note that if you're going to have more than 9 footnotes on a page, you might want to add a tab after the Number field in the Notes panel, and also adjust the tab stops of the paragraph before creating the new Paragraph Text Style. anh_ngoc 1 Quote -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. philipt18 Posted April 10, 2024 Posted April 10, 2024 I'm trying to do the same thing, and I came up with the same solution, although it doesn't work if there are more than 9 footnotes, as once it gets to double-digits, the spacing is wrong. There should be a more accurate way to do this, as this is very common footnote formatting. Quote

You should be able to adjust the spacing to account for that, I think. Though perhaps you would also want to set the numbers to right-aligned. I think for it to work you'd need to be able to set the text spacing separately from the number spacing. Quote
philipt18 Posted April 10, 2024 Posted April 10, 2024 As this is marked solved, and my problem is related to footnotes, I'm moving this over to Quote
