convert donut to circle

Is there a way to change a donut back into an ellipse shape in Designer 2 (not by converting to curves)?

Close pie, Hole radius 0%, but it is then called Pie.

1. make sure the appropriate snapping options are on
2. draw an ellipse that snaps the the donut bounding box
3. voilà

A caveat I just noticed, however:
If your donut has a pie opening, the ellipse will not snap to the "base box", only to the "regular box". You will need to (temporarily) close the opening first to get the full donut bounding box to snap to. Or temporarily "invert angle" to snap to the missing piece of the pie.
