I'm trying to draw up a figure using the isometric drawing capabilities. I'm a newbie and I've been following tutorials to try to get the hang of it. When I draw a figure (in this case a rectangular box) the box is bounded by a thin red-purplish border. I can't seem to get rid of it, I've deactivated the stroke everywhere but I still have this figure with borders around all the intersecting panes.  This is probably a naive question but any help would be appreciated.

Hi and welcome to the Forums @aestiegman,

This sounds like the Show Snapping Candidates option in the Snapping panel. Uncheck the little box.It is there I promise you, this is just another example of the unbelievably bad User Interface when using the Light option.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

FWIW, if you have Candidates: set to Immediate Layers, then the box will be greyed out, but at least in v2.0.3, with Preferences > User Interface > UI Contrast set to the Default button settings, if you choose for example Candidate List it should not be greyed out & should contrast enough with the background that its location should become obvious:

So which one is chosen? Is it the Default or the High?

I am just sick and tired of the horrid low contrast. The entire experience of using this suite is degraded horribly. I actually dread using the software now.

The Default, like I said. It sets the Text Contrast & UI Brightness to their defaults (the points on the 2 sliders with the little marks below them).

TBH, I never use the Light or Default OS UI Style, always the Dark one, & set the Text Contrast to its maximum. That's the only way it looks close to what I would like for easy, at-a-glance use, but it still has a long way to go.
