Catshill
Upon opening a V1 document in V2 I now get the following. This suggests to me that it is now possible in 2.03 to save imported files in V1 format which is clearly not the case as using 'Save As' (as it suggests) does not allow me to "preserve the original file". Is this just a case of poor choice of words and would the error be better as... "xxx was created in Affinity 1. Editing it will make it unusable in the older version. Close this file and make a copy/backup to preserve the original file,"

Version 2 (since version 2.0.0) can only load files in V1 format. So the only new thing is the mentioned warning, which warns the user that if he saves the file in V2, he will no longer be able to open it in V1. 1 hour ago, Catshill said: which is clearly not the case as using 'Save As' (as it suggests) does not allow me to "preserve the original file". I don't understand what you mean, because doing SaveAs will "preserve" the original file (that is, if you use a different name than the original file name). Using SaveAs will switch working to the new file, leaving the original (V1) in its original state. Save As certainly does preserve the original file, assuming you specify a new file name. If you specify the original file name, you will overwrite it, and it will not be usable in V1 (as the message warns you).
