Every time I try to open any JPG file through Right click->Affinity Photo, it opens in Affinity Publisher, I am not sure if it is a bug, but it only happens if I do it in Adobe Bridge app.

  1. Right click the file - the context menu will appear
  2. Press and hold Option - Open With will change to Always Open With
  3. Choose Always Open With > Affinity Photo 2

That should solve it if the issue is with macOS Finder. If it's with Bridge I can't help, I have it but don't use it.

Thank you anyway! Yes, the issue only with Adobe Bridge which I would like to be fixed... if I try to open JPG with another software it works fine... only with Affinity doesn't go well..

Try going into Bridge's Preferences and choose File Type Associations.

Good luck

yes, if to open directly it works(I chose JPG associate with Affinity Photo) ...Interesting that even with Right Click->Affinity Photo .afphoto files in Adobe Bridge also opens only with Affinity Publisher. It seems only solution is to use File Type Associations, although I prefer my jpgs open with Preview app.

Thank you!
