Lisan Al Gaib
I have drawn some objects with pencil tool in my design. I wanted divide two object for two parts. I cannot do because some of boolean operations didn't work at all. Some worked but not way I wanted because it disappeared my objects. v_kyr
You have to be much more specific here! - It's often better to tell with which OS & Affinity version, further then to show some screenshot, or short screenrecording of what you've drawn (incl. the layers panel) here then and which geometric boolean operation you've tried to apply etc. - Otherwise everybody who's going to help you will have to guess out of the blue here! Do you have fills in your "objects"? Are the "objects" open or closed? Have you tried using Designer's new Knife tool to cut the "objects"? R C-R
It would help if you attached an Affinity file with those two shapes in it but I think to get what you want you could just subtract B from A to get C. Brian_J
There are two overlapping nodes in the bottom layer that appear to be causing the issue. If you delete one of the nodes, or move the node so it's not on top of the other one, the Boolean operations will work. Curtis Look
Does this mean boolean won't work in the case of one object being a straight pencil line?
Alfred
1 hour ago, Curtis Look said: Does this mean boolean won't work in the case of one object being a straight pencil line? Welcome to the Serif Affinity Forums, Curtis. Boolean operations generally work with two or more closed shapes (although you can select a single object and ‘Add’ it to itself). If you want to use a straight line as one of those shapes, you firstly need to close it via the option offered on the Context toolbar when the Node Tool is active.
