Any updates on vector-pattern-fill support?

Recommended Posts

Hi!

I'm having troubles importing AI file that contains vector pattern. Tried to convert it to SVG using different tools -- SVG files don't work in Affinity Suite either.
After few hours of googling I found few posts from 2019-2020 discussing "vector pattern fill", and basically saying it was not supported yet.

Any news on that? Is there any work going on to support these, any timeline?
Other than that, I'm absolutely loving Affinity Suite; it's a shame I can't import file I need for work. If anyone has ideas on what can be done -- I'm all ears!

Attaching files if anyone is interested

Thanks,
Vladimir

Welcome to the forums @enot110

There is currently no SVG vector pattern fill support in the Affinity applications.

Serif don’t tell us their plans for the applications so all we can do is wait and see if that situation changes at some point.

For anyone wanting to read a bit of history on this request you can see some of it here: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/81775-vectorpattern-fill/

Any further requests for this functionality should probably be added to the above linked thread and not this one.

My experience with file conversions is that you sometimes have to kick, punch and bite to get a result
Zip contains an eps from Inkscape and an svg from VectorStyler, bit of a mess but at least they're still vector, hope they're useful
