Hello,

I have 2 problems when exporting in PDF. I used the PDF/X-4 preset.

1. The background has a darker blue strip, which is not present in the initial doc:

2. Lines are also appearing in one image of the document:

Any idea ?

Thanks

This is somewhat normal with flattened PDFs that have rasterized parts. Such artefacts were even visible in Acrobat Pro when checking PDFs created by InDesign for prepress. In print – as in offset – they will be invisible.

I don't know how home printers can handle these artefacts though. I have an old CMYK laser printer, and usually I'd export to PDF with transparencies, avoiding as much bitmap flattening as only possible; also the actual layer hierarchy matters here. Then I'd print via MacOS Preview.app. The Affinity print dialog was always too buggy on Mac and crashed regularly. I rarely print anything in color at home though. And I don't know if the Print dialog was fixed in v2, as my laser printer is not even supported on MacOS Catalina anymore…

Sorry to hear you're having trouble and our sincerest apologies for the delayed response here. We are exceptionally busy following the release of V2 and we thank you for your continued patience and understanding here.

We're going to need to see a copy of your .afpub file and the PDF export settings you are using to investigate this further - are you able to provide a copy of these here for me please?

Many thanks in advance!
