Develop Persona 👉🏼 White Balance = Crash

Peacemaker

Recommended Posts

I just bought Affinity and the inability to adjust the white balance is a major issue for me as I try to learn the new software. I guess I really want to know when Serif thinks the patch will come. Being new to the software I don't know how fast such fundamental issues take to be resolved but it is 18 days since a moderator said it is a known issue - OK Christmas has likely taken a big chunk of that. An indeterminate time frame is not really helpful.

Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums :)

To all readers. The fix for this will be available in the next few weeks. However the Develope persona is really designed for RAW files, and this bug only shows itself when applying white balance to non-raw files. Until the patch is released you can still use Layer -> New Adjustment Layer -> White Balance (which remains editable)

S in London - the white balance problem is restricted only to working in the "develop persona". Once your picture is the Affinity document, white balance adjustment is fully operational and at your service :)

Patrick, please note that raw files (in my case from Canon EOS R6 with the latest firmware) DO GENERATE crash when White Balance slider is moved in the Develop persona (while Layer -> New Adjustment Layer -> White Balance directly after Developing is perfectly OK).

I must have misunderstood the recipe, thanks. I'll check those files too

Sorry that you have experienced this problem with the 2.0.3 release of the Affinity Suite.

We have now released 2.0.4 on all platforms, and using that build this problem no longer occurs.
