Some things I noticed

Recommended Posts

Hi,

First of all, nice products :)

But I noticed some things:

  1. Resizing big images (>4000x4000) leaves the app unresponding. Please add some kind of progress bar.
  2. Exporting big PDF's as PNG with embedded EPS with bitmaps in them leave 'cut marks'? (added image for illustration, please zoom in, if you need the root pdf, please tell me how I can send it to you on a private channel)
  3.  Export profiles have to be done in each application 😒. Can this be shared for all 3 applications?

  4. If I want to retouch a PNG in Affinity Photo 2 and want to export it as PNG (or any other bitmap format) it again uses resample (for example 200x200 image and I just want to save the bitmap as seen I'm forced to use another resample pass which changes the image again unnecessarily). Please add an option to bypass the resample if the image size is the same as the document size. At the moment I have to copy/paste it into gimp again to save it.

  5. Even after not importing a PDF file, affinity is still locking the file. (explanation: Drag in a PDF and click cancel, affinity is locking the file until it is closed)

Overall I'm quite happy with the apps :)

Unfortunately, it is not possible (at the moment) to share the preferences for the export profiles.

Maybe one day the corresponding .propcol file will be placed in a common folder.

Are you sure it's actually resampling? I thought that the Resampling only occurred if you change the document size.
