Hi everyone,
before I upgrade to the new versions, I would like to ask if some or any of the following problems/bugs/inconsistencies/"features" were fixed/changed in the new versions.

If some of these are just a matter of right settings, please let me know. I could not find it, but it's possible that I overlooked something. Thank you.

UX

  • UI scaling - on Mac (M1) is really small
  • Cursor stays the same regadless the action - change default cursor to "hand" when hover over interactive elements (buttons, sliders, etc), grabbing layers
  • While opening windows/palletes as a user I have no idea something is happening - many times I try to click again just to see the window appear and immediatelly disappear again
  • ESC should cancel EVERYTHING - all dialogs, crop, mesh, transformation, everything
  • There should be an option to "Rasterize all selected layers"
  • Fix/disable "jump to layer starting with [pressed key]" - I'm in the layer window, press "B" --> Brush. When the brush is already selected, pressing "B" jumps (usually) to "Background". Very annoying.
  • Sometimes spacebar disable layer visibility, but it doesn't enable it back, why?
  • I don't see which brush I have selected at the moment

Tools

  • When merging layers (adjustment + pixel layer) inside the folder, result is layer with flatten image of the whole folder.
  • I could not find a way how to easily recolor/desaturate layer without the need of the adjustment layer (which causes problems as previously stated)
  • It's not possible to "unlink" mask, so when you wanna transform the masked layer you have to manually remove the mask, transform and apply the mask again
  • Not possible to permanently disable "Apply to selection" under Color picker tool
  • Not possible to transform CROP from the center
  • Not possible to move selection during the selecting process with the spacebar (basic function!)
  • Effects have maximum 100px range - it's useless for something bigger, why it's not relative or percentage?

Performance

  • Sometimes "Merge down" takes really long time with the rainbow wheel even with tiny pixel layers (~40px). Especiall if masked.

Some answers.

UI scaling - no change

Cursor stays the same - I wouldn't say it stayed the same in v1 regardless of the action - when you mouse over a size handle the cursor changes. But no change from v1 if you were looking for more.

"While opening windows/palletes as a user I have no idea something is happening" - I don't know what you mean, it might be best if you provided an example.

Esc should cancel everything - it does although I can't swear I've tried every dialog and panel, there are a lot of them

Rasterize all selected layers - there is in v2, select multiple layers and choose Rasterize and it will rasterize all of them (separately). In v1 it would only rasterize the top layer.

"Fix/disable jump to layer starting with [pressed key]" - I'd never had that issue with v1 but I just tested it in v2 and it works as you want.

Thank you for your answer and sorry for the delay :)

Cursor stays the same

What I meant was that there is no feedback from the UI. (Almost) no cursor change, no hover state, nothing. As a user you don't see any interaction. It's not a great UX.

Sometimes when I try to open "Colour" palette in "Layer Effect" dialog window there is a slight delay. But "thanks" to the absence of any kind of visual feedback I don't know if I really clicked or it was a miss. So, where this delay appears I click again and the colour dialog appears and disappear again.

It doesn't. For example Crop or Adjustment layers. Crop is particulary annoying.

What cursor do you mean? There is the standard I-beam cursor for text entry but other than that are you talking about the pointer used with the tools or what?

I cannot duplicate that on my Mac -- there is never any noticeable delay. What are the specs of your computer?
