Non-retina iMac - blurry at 144 dpi & 216 dpi

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I'm new to Affinity Photo (but 20+ years of PS). I came across a rather odd thing:

When I setup an image with 144 dpi or 216 dpi everything gets blurry/pixelated.

As soon as I change the dpi to say 145 dpi or 217 dpi (without resampling) the image

gets sharp. This is not related to zoom. Any zoom will have the object pixelated.

non-retina iMac 2013 running the latest El Capitan with Affinity Photo 1.4.1

PS: When I try the same thing on my MacBook Pro retina. There is only a very slight blur between

changing the the dpi's (without resampling). Photoshop doesn't make a move doing the same thing.

Correction on the latter statement. I just tried it again and I run into the same issue with my

retina Macbook.

I attached a video from the iMac showing the issue.

Thanks,

Dennis
