How to select pixels?

Hi,

I just bought the Affinity Photo and try not to bounce off it.

When I make a selection and use move tool, pixels are not affected, only the selection itself.

How one can fix this?

That's by design.

Look at the Status bar at the bottom of the window. It will tell you which modifier key to press for specific actions you may want to perform with the selection.

Actually, now that I reread your post:

If you're using the Move tool (the black arow tool), in that case it should cut and move your selection.
Unless you have another layer selected in the Layers panel, not the actual pixel layer which you wanted to edit.

Also, make sure you're working on a Pixel layer. The layer type is shown in the Layers panel.
