Photo V2 Export

Trying to export a modified photo with another name comes back as: 

File not found. Check the filename and try again

I'm saving not loading.

I have found this happens no matter what directory I choose except 'Desktop'

What OS?

Purely a guess, but do you use any cloud services, such as Dropbox, OneDrive, iCloud, etc. that may be interfering with the process of saving in the directories you've tried so far? For example, I have a vague memory of an old report that one of the Cloud services renames files as part of its processing, and that it could rename a file after the Affinity program initially created it but before Affinity had time to Open the file again to write into it. Thus, the Affinity program would do several steps (Create, Open, Write, Close) and it could fail between the first and second steps.

Windows OS, no cloud services in use, and have now found that the same happens in designer2. But not any V1s

May uninstall and start fresh

After a full uninstall, reboot then reinstall of photo v2, I can load a photo, rename it and save anywhere, but soon as I alter the image in any way it will not save.

Any ideas?? I am still able to use Publisher and Designer V2 Export no problems.

If i find the cause I will report back

Do you have Controlled Folder Access turned on? This might be a false positive for your Affinity apps that prevents them from writing to files. Type "Controlled Folder Access" into the search box and you should be able to see the setting. I have mine off and everything works fine.

Thanks for the reply, I have just found windows security had updated a day ago and switched on 'controlled folder access' 

for some reason it seems to have only affected Affinity Photo V2

Did changing that setting solve the problem?

Just finished testing all scenarios, after allowing Photo through the firewall and alls well, so far.

That was definitely a head scratcher.

now to find out why 'tone mapping won't save, (no hamburger menu options]
