tatanka
The issue Some OpenType stylistic alternates (ssNN) are generically named despite them having a descriptive name. The first screenshot shows the stylistic alternates for the roman on the left, and the italic on the right. Notice that the stylistic alternate number is only used in both styles when they have exactly the same name, otherwise they skip numbers so not to collide the other style. (I don’t know if that is relevant to this issue but it bears mentioning.) The second screenshot is showing how "Stylistic Set 02" is generically named in this sub-heading style. The sub-heading style is roman, it doesn’t have a "Stylistic Set 02", only the italic does. Yet it still shows "Stylistic Set 02" as a part of the list of "Stylistic sets: …" Expected behaviour I would expect the "Stylistic sets: …" selector of the "Edit Text Style" window to only show features from the font in question. In this case the Publisher style is roman, hence it should not show the "Stylistic Set 02" which only exist in the italic style of the typeface. Further, the "Stylistic Set 02" is the generic name which only adds further confusion.
Staff Dan C Posted January 17, 2023 Staff Share Posted January 17, 2023 Hi @tatanka, Thanks for your report and our sincerest apologies for the delayed response here. We are exceptionally busy following the release of V2 and we thank you for your continued patience and understanding here. I can confirm I've been able to replicate this here, and have reported this to our developers for you now. However I'm not personally au fait with Stylistic Sets in typography, so I'm not 100% certain of the expected behaviour here and I will be sure to update you with any information our devs provide tatanka 1 Quote Please note - I am currently out of the office for a short while whilst recovering from surgery (nothing serious!), therefore will not be available on the Forums during this time. Should you require a response from the team in a thread I have previously replied in - please Create a New Thread and our team will be sure to reply as soon as possible. Many thanks!
