KidGalaxy
Hello, I'm new to the Affinity software suite, and have been attempting to learn to use Affinity Designer. I recently discovered that some of the brushes in the Pixel Persona mode, are not working with my Dell S2240T touch-screen monitor. While I have not tested all of the brushes in the Pixel Persona mode, below I have included a small list of brushes that do not appear to be working... Effects 4 Effects 2 Effects 1 Spray 2 Spray 3 Spray 4 Grunge 6 It is worth noting that these brushes work fine when I use my trackpad, and appear to work fine when I tap the touch-screen, however, tapping and dragging, does not work. Specs; MacBook Pro running OS X 10.11 with a 21.5" Dell S2240T touch-screen monitor. Any insight into this problem would be greatly appreciated. Best Regards, KidGalaxy RaymondKn and GigabyteGiant
Staff DWright Posted February 1, 2016 Staff Share Posted February 1, 2016 Hi KidGalaxy, Welcome to the forum. Dell do not test their monitors on Apple computers and as a result they do not have any MAC OSX drivers for your monitor USB upstream connection for the touch screen support only Windows 8 drivers, This link is to the Dell website where this is discussed. Hello DWright, we appreciate the response. The touch-screen works fine; KidGalaxy is using a 3rd-party driver from Touch-Base. From what I've seen, other tools/brushes in Affinity Designer work perfectly fine with the touch-screen, as do other drawing/sketching applications. Knowing that, can any more information be provided?
Staff DWright Posted February 2, 2016 Staff Share Posted February 2, 2016 I may be a pressure setting on the brush itself. If you turn of the pressure do you have the same issue.

No, changing the pressure doesn't seem to make a difference...
GigabyteGiant
I may be a pressure setting on the brush itself. If you turn of the pressure do you have the same issue. Are the brushes that KidGalaxy listed, checking for different pressure "levels" from the input source, by some chance? If so, this problem might be a result to the fact that the Dell monitor (and 3rd party driver), do not have support for different pressures.
