Valerie70fromIL
I have a registered Affinity Photo 1 on my home desktop, it was put on when I had internet service (granted it was old DSL). Now I don't have internet at my house, I loaded Affinity Photo 2 using a external hard drive, but can't use it since it can't go online to check my membership. Can I buy license for Affinity Photo 2, and install it on offline computer as I don't want to drag my desk top to place that has internet? (now More info than you needed, I was going to put Affinity Photo V2 on my dad's new used computer (he got after his old computer's video card died) at his assisted living place, but it runs on Win 7. Affinity 2 requires a minimum of Windows 10, not sure why but that's the deal. ETL
Off-line activation is a must!!! It was possible in v1 and is the No. 1 reason I went with Affinity Photo over Photoshop. You see, on my corporate network, the computers don't have access to the Internet for security reason. While maybe that's not super typical, it is still not that unusual. Photoshop with it's monthly activation made it impossible to use on our network. But then I found Affinity Photo and that enabled me to provide high quality software to the users that did all they needed, without requiring Adobe's products. But I won't be able to ever upgrade to v2 if it require on-line activation. Seon Jae, Jeon

But I won't be able to ever upgrade to v2 if it require on-line activation. It does require online activation. The intent is that it just happens once, but sometimes I have found it necessary to activate again. You might ask your networking team to investigate firewall apps or appliances, that can restrict access to the Internet without blocking it entirely. So just curious, but how do you expect to get the V2 apps onto your (workplace?) computer without Internet access? ETL
Quote So just curious, but how do you expect to get the V2 apps onto your (workplace?) computer without Internet access? Download on internet connected computer, copy to USB drive, copy off USB drive to air-gapped computer, install. Pretty typical. Not really any different than what the OP needs to do. They have a computer that is not in a location that has internet access. Does not want to drag their computer to the nearest city to connect it to the internet. Their reason is physical location. My reason is security. Same outcome. Quote You might ask your networking team to investigate firewall apps or appliances, that can restrict access to the Internet without blocking it entirely. ETL
There are many applications that require online activation but provide a solution for this particular situation. Take FoxIt PhantomPDF for example. It is normally done with online activation but if you can't, you can contact support and they send you a file you can put on your computer. Microsoft permits phone activation without internet connection for most products. Adobe does not and that's why I went away from them to Affinity. As you've mentioned your issue is with the corporate network, and as you seem to be in charge of the software for the users, you might consider contacting corpsales@serif.com and asking them if they have any deployment capabilities that don't involve network-based activation.
