ashf Posted December 7, 2022 Posted December 7, 2022 I feel opening a document quite slow compared to the previous PC I used and it's the same in both V1 and V2. This is not only with RAW files but any file types such as jpg/png. The new PC and the old PC has the same OS(Win 10 22H2). Disabling OpenCL doesn't affect this problem. hardware spec: Core i5 8500 w/o dGPU / 24GB RAM / 1TB NVMe SSD
ashf Posted December 8, 2022 Author Posted December 8, 2022 It's strange. Only opening the first document is slow.
Staff Chris B Posted December 8, 2022 Staff Posted December 8, 2022 How slow are we talking for say, a standard 24MP image? From click, it takes about a second on my machine. From a cold start it did seem to be closer to 2 seconds for me. How to format a bug report | Learning Resources | List of V2 FAQs | YouTube Tutorials
ashf Posted December 8, 2022 Author Posted December 8, 2022 An image that's 1080p takes more than 5 sec at first loading. Second loading or later is fine I think. Waiting after the startup doesn't matter.
ashf Posted November 7, 2023 Author Posted November 7, 2023 This problem still remains in V2.2. It seems that Photo takes longer than Designer/Publisher on loading the first file for some reason. Though Designer/Publisher is still somewhat slow on loading the first file. I can say Photo is abnormal for sure. Loading 1920x1080 jpg First file: Photo: 8 sec Designer/Publisher: 3 sec Second file and later: Photo: 1 sec or less Designer/Publisher: 1 sec or less
ashf Posted November 7, 2023 Author Posted November 7, 2023 P.S. waiting after opening Affinity does not affect this problem. So it's not caused by the initialization process of Affinity.
ashf Posted November 7, 2023 Author Posted November 7, 2023 Ok. I got something this time. When I disable OpenCL, the loading time is reduced to 2-3 sec. It was not related when I posted this topic though. It's a common Intel iGPU(UHD 630). shouldn't be a trouble, should it?
ashf Posted November 7, 2023 Author Posted November 7, 2023 I have installed the latest version of driver got from the Intel site. Result is the same.
