Importing V1 Studio Presets into Publisher V2

Hello, 

I have, in Publisher V1, created an office standard Studio Preset which has been a great help using the "%AppData%\Affinity\Publisher\1.0\Workspaces\" file path. However, I can't find this anywhere for Publisher V2.

Has this process changed for V2?

Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums.

It is unclear to us, as users, whether the Studio Presets were not migrated automatically from V1 to V2 because:

1. Serif simply didn't have time to implement that function; or
2. They are incompatible enough that simply copying the data across wouldn't work.

If the reason it wasn't done is #1, then it's possible you could copy the files from V1 to V2. But if it's #2, then you may mess things up if you try to do the copying.

I have not tried that myself, so I don't know what would happen. If you want to try it, make sure you make backups of anything you change in V2 so you can restore them if the apps start failing. With that in mind, the storage location you're looking for in Publisher V2 is %USERPROFILE%\.affinity\Publisher\2.0\Workspaces

My guess is it is a combination of the two; basically, that the incompatibilities could be resolved with a lot of time & effort but they decided it would not be worth delaying the releases until it was working well enough.

The main trouble I was finding the folder's new location. Thank you. I will report back if the V1 Preset is compatible. Considering they have moved the studio panels from the View tab to the Window tab, I imagine it won't work.

I don't think that would affect Studio presets, since they don't affect menu items.

I've tried it with great success. The V1 Preset seems to be working without issue.

Assuming they are available via Studio Link, are the Studio presets in all 3 personas working as expected?

We are only using Publisher here so I can't check, sorry.

FWIW, in the Mac versions I *think* the equivalent path is ~/Library/Application Support/Affinity Publisher 2/presets/, a folder containing individual files named like "com.seriflabs.Studio.Preset.Data2Layout.My named preset.preset."

I have not tried swapping out the V1 equivalents but if any Mac user is foolhardy brave enough to try it, I would like to know if it worked. 😉
