Why I buy affinity photo year before and now need to pay v2?

about year ago I has buy Affinity Photo and there is a new version on store, but again need to pay it? Why?

Because Serif employees have to pay for electricity, housing, water, food? Because it's a major upgrade. You are not forced to buy V2! If you don't need the new features, you can use V1 until the end of your days if you like.

There are enough threads on this topic. Which compels me to ask a counter-question. Why didn't you use the search function?

You don’t need to pay for the new app. You can continue to use the old one. It was just updated too.

OK.. fair reason.. I will get v2 now, not a problem and value is a great. But hope there is not need to get every year v3, v4, ect and pay for it :))

Version 1 was supplied with updates and minor upgrades for six years, free of charge!

With V2 it may not be so many years, but I am sure that there will be no V3 in 2023. And probably not in 2024 either.
