Charlie Francis
Having downloaded Affinity 2 on my Mac, when I look in Applications, it is just showing the original Affinity Photo. Do I have to get rid of this version before Affinity 2 shows up there and if so how do I do that? Thanks Charlie
R C-R
No, you do not have to remove V1 for V2 to work. However, depending on which store you got it from you may have to install V2 if you have it as a *.dmg file. If so, double click on that file & follow the instructions to install it. MikeTO
Hi Charlie and welcome to the forum. If you're not seeing Photo 2 in Applications then I agree with R C-R that you likely downloaded it from Serif's site and didn't install it from the Mac App Store. If that's the case you will find the DMG in your Downloads folder. Here are Serif's instructions: https://store.serif.com/en-gb/help/installation-guide/ R C-R 1 Quote Download a free PDF manual for Affinity Publisher 2.5 Download a quick reference chart for Affinity's Special Characters Affinity 2.5 for macOS Sequoia 15.0.1, MacBook Pro 14" (M1 Pro)
Charlie Francis
Thank you both. Didn’t realise I had to drag it across into the Applications box in the set up. Do I not have to get rid of the original Affinity in Applications as I obviously don’t need both?
h_d
Entirely up to you. You don't have to remove v1 - it and v2 will run quite happily together. R C-R
I suggest keeping V1 around for a while for several reasons. One is that you can migrate some some stuff but not everything from V1 to V2, so it is nice to have V1 open as a reference when setting up V2. Another is that there are still some bugs in V2 that are not in V1. There are other reasons ... just do a quick search of the forum for more about that. Jammy Brit
It is a shame that affinity 1? is not still available to the hundreds if on thousands of people who are maintaining perfectly functioning macs older than 2020 and would like to try and buy the software . At a time when we are running short of resources worldwide wasting perfectly good tech by forcing obsolescence on customers makes me angry.
