Merge table cells in Publisher on iPad

Hello, my first time posting here, please be gentle!

Is there a way to merge cells in a table using Publisher on the iPad? Reason tells me there ought to be and that if so it should be located somewhere in the ‘cells’ tab. But despite searching in the app for the past two hours, scanning the wisdom of this forum, spending far longer than I intended yet utterly failing to find the answer on YouTube and manically interrogating the cat (poor soul), I can find no obvious way of doing this.

So… is it possible to do this on the ipad version? If so, please put me out of my misery!

Unfortunately I really need to merge cells, removing the visible borders won’t suffice.

Hi @Hopelessly Lost and welcome to the forums  

According to the in-app help — To merge/separate table cells: With multiple table cells selected, long press and choose Merge Cells or Separate Cells from the pop-up menu.

So obvious, and yet I managed to miss it!

Well I can only get it to work sometimes.

sometimes it works, mostly it doesn’t pop up the popup so I can merge cells
