Edu Flint Posted December 3, 2022 Posted December 3, 2022 The brushes have disappeared in the pixel person. No brushes appear in the studio, neither the originals nor the ones bought in the store. I've restored the app and purchases and reinstalled and they still don't show up. Quote
markw Posted December 3, 2022 Posted December 3, 2022 Hello Edu and welcome to the Affinity forums🙂 Which OS are you on and which version of Designer are you using, v1 or v2? It could just be that you have inadvertently turned them Off so first try the following… For Designer v1; Make sure that you are in the Pixel persona then in the Menubar go to: View > Studio > Brushes, it should have a tick mark next to it. If it doesn’t click once on it to activate it. For Designer v2; Make sure that you are in the Pixel persona then in the Menubar go to: Window > Brushes, it should have a tick mark next to it. If it doesn’t click once on it to activate it. Edu Flint Posted December 3, 2022 Author Posted December 3, 2022 Hi, I’m working on v2. The brushes studio appears but is empty… Quote

You may need to perform a Reset action: Close all 3 Affinity V2 applications. Press and hold the Ctrl key, and start Designer. Keep the Ctrl key pressed until you get the Clear User Data dialog. Uncheck all the options that are checked, and Check the Reset Brushes option. Press Clear. This should reset the brushes to the Factory Default condition. Note that you will need to reinstall any personal brushes you've created or added. (Possibly, though, you could also Check "Reset Content Migration Prompt" and Designer will offer to migrate items from V1, but that may get you some duplicate categories in Assets, etc.) Quote -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. (But for the future, there's a separate forum area for iPad questions: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/forum/43-affinity-on-ipad-questions/ ) On iPad, close the apps. Then start Designer. Use a 1-finger double-tap on the Splash Screen to get the dialog I referenced above. If you mean the Splash Screen, it will appear briefly when you Open the application, if it was not previously running. Thus, you must first Close the app. You can do that by having it running, and slowly dragging up from the bottom of the screen until the app shrinks and joins an array of the running apps. Then touch it and flick upwards off the screen. (At least, for my iPad running my release of iPadOS.)
