Pšenda Posted December 2, 2022 Posted December 2, 2022 Some group items and their possible alternatives are displayed logically - that is, the group item (with a small triangle), and then its individual items. But some items are completely illogically in reversed order, or even completely chaotic. Setting up the Toolbar is thus quite demanding and laborious, because it is not clear which of the items can possibly be grouped and which cannot. Therefore, I am asking for a logical and unambiguous arrangement of the items that can be grouped, and possibly also for their visual differentiation/grouping, so that it is obvious at a glance which items can be grouped and which cannot. walt.farrell Posted December 2, 2022 Posted December 2, 2022 I like the idea. It might help avoid a bit of confusion if you edited your topic title to say "Tools customize" rather than "Toolbar customize" (Though, it is interesting that the dialog itself refers to "toolbar". I think that's a minor error that should be fixed, sometime, by Serif.) -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop 1: Windows 11 Pro 24H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. GarryP Posted December 2, 2022 Posted December 2, 2022 Although the grouping of tools is entirely down to individual user needs and preferences, some people may group their tools according to specific workflows they use so otherwise-’disparate’ tools are close to each other, I think I might be nice if the tools in the Customise panel were categorised, by name, in some way. For example: Shape Tools; Selection Tools; Text Tools; Deform Tools; etc. That would give users more idea of which tools they might need if they know what sort of work they are doing.
Pšenda Posted December 2, 2022 Author Posted December 2, 2022 I'll just add, as it is clear from another thread, the tool selection panel differs depending on the OS, or it is not displayed correctly at some Scale factor values. 3 hours ago, walt.farrell said: Though, it is interesting that the dialog itself refers to "toolbar". Serif was alerted to this error a year ago - and nothing. walt.farrell 1 Affinity Store (MSI/EXE): Affinity Suite (ADe, APh, APu) 2.5.7.2948 (Retail) Dell OptiPlex 7060, i5-8500 3.00 GHz, 16 GB, Intel UHD Graphics 630, Dell P2417H 1920 x 1080, Windows 11 Pro, Version 24H2, Build 26100.2605.
