Buglover
Hey, I want to ask if there are already stock agencies that support better file formats than the regular EPS for vector graphics which are delivered from the major stock agencies. As the regular EPS doesn't support layers and Affinity can’t open the attached AI file, many layer Information of the illustration are lost if you open an EPS in Affinity. I know that you can open the AI in AI and convert it to svg, but this doesn't work for all cases. Just curious if the market already reacts to the growing number of Affinity users. VIPStephan
I haven’t seen any but I can’t speak for anyone but myself. I guess Affinity isn’t popular enough (yet) that agencies provide proprietary file formats. However, if an EPS is done right it should support layers and I’ve layered EPS files that I can open with AD without any issues, likewise for AI files. It’s only files from very old versions of Illustrator that AD can’t open.

The main issue with Stock files and Affinity seems to be EPS files with embedded AI data-streams. In other words, EPS files that are hybrids, not pure EPS, so they can't include functions that EPS doesn't support directly.
