Jason Ramasami Posted November 30, 2022 Posted November 30, 2022 Hi (and thanks in advance) If I have set up my Mac with everything - Pallets and Custom Assets - is there a simple way of migrating all of that onto my iPad without it being a tiresome grind? It might be obvious to some but I can't see how. FWIW - I am mainly using Publisher v2 and piggy backing all my work on Designer through that. Jason (I was hoping that this process would be taken care of in some automatic background sync procedure... but I guess this was too ambitious a hope.) Quote
StudioJason Posted November 30, 2022 Posted November 30, 2022 On Desktop versions at least, both the Color Panel and Assets Panel…should be able to click on the small Hamburger (top right of Panel near name) and Export. Color Panel, just click on Swatches…then select from the Hamburger in there. Just choose a Files location (or create one to retrieve later) or put onto Cloud Storage. Will have .afpallette or .afassets extension on them. Forget if Desktop has a way to Airdrop. Then open whichever V2 and import (within Color/Swatches Panel or Assets Panel). Quote

Or, easier, use Import Content. On Desktop, that's in the File menu. On iPad, click the app icon in the top left of the app's Home Screen. Jason Ramasami Posted December 1, 2022 Author Posted December 1, 2022 Thanks @walt.farrell - the assets tip works a charm. Unfortunately the colour palette file is not recognised at the iPad end of things sadly. I know I can likely recreate things but I want a quick way just in case I need to import a few colour palettes in the future. Quote
walt.farrell Posted December 1, 2022 Posted December 1, 2022 You/re welcome, @Jason Ramasami. Can you share one of the .afpalette files that's not working with us? Jason Ramasami Posted December 2, 2022 Author Posted December 2, 2022 Thanks for helping - much appreciated. @DM1 I have tried that Import Palette option and the files remain greyed out in the iCloud panel. @walt.farrell i attach one of the pallets below for you to look at - it was exported using desktop Publisher. Thanks. The Help on iPad says it expects .afpalette files. I think that Publisher should give you that choice when exporting, but I'm not sure if this is depends on the type of Palette you're dealing with (Application, Document, or System). Jason Ramasami Posted December 3, 2022 Author Posted December 3, 2022 That's the problem here - the desktop version doesn't speak the same format language as the iOS app. This needs changing or it will be an annoying workaround Quote

Jason Ramasami Posted December 5, 2022 Author Posted December 5, 2022 This is very strange - I tried this both ways and this works exactly as you say. I am certain it wasn't happening earlier in the week. The .clr file (see below) was what WAS exporting before. The newer 'from IOS' file is what I exported this morning. Thanks for your persistence and help. Jason Rama Maps test.clr Rama Maps Updated again from iOS .afpalette walt.farrell 1 Quote
