awakenedbyowls
Is it any better/more intuitive than V1? I have been using V1 for about 2 years now I can never figure out what setting to choose or get it to snap to what I want. It just never seems to work for me! loukash
From what I can say so far, it's the same. Snapping works fine for me. It's just that with that many options and combinations thereof, it's sometimes possible to "overshoot" one's initial snapping goal. But once you have tested and understood what every option is meant for, then you can finetune almost every scenario needed. Also don't forget the separate Node tool snapping options in the context tool bar. I've used that a bit, ie. done the tutorials but never put it into practise so tend to forget things Doesn't that only work on nodes in the object you are currently working on? Old Bruce
I agree with loukash's assessment. I frequently change the settings for snapping, In my experience fewer choices/candidates work better. awakenedbyowls
That's what I'm doing - it doesn't help when snapping functions don't work on objects within different layer structures when "Only Snap To Visible Objects" is selected. What is it: Snap to visible objects or Snap to visible objects IN THE SAME LAYER? 10 minutes ago, loukash said: Also don't forget the separate Node tool snapping options in the context tool bar. Anyway, I notice that "Align to nodes of selected curves" works on different objects so long as both are selected (I thought this tool was just for use on the same object, at least that is what the tutorial suggests) so this basic function does seem to be there and hopefully I can make better use of it now

I usually start with my "All Off" custom preset and turn on things. awakenedbyowls 1 Quote Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.6 Affinity Designer 2.5.5 | Affinity Photo 2.5.5 | Affinity Publisher 2.5.5 | Beta versions as they appear.
